What are Optional Payments?

Issuers may announce more than one payment option for the shareholder. In these cases, there will be multiple records for the same distribution event. For example, shareholders may be able to elect to receive a dividend in different currencies.

These are treated as optional payments under the GetDistributions and GetDistributionsByExchange endpoints under the Global Corporate Actions API.
