Index Options Hours

Standard S&P 500 Index (SPX) options do not trade exclusively during regular market hours. While the traditional core session runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. ET, the Cboe Options Exchange offers extensive extended trading hours for SPX options.

  1. Regular Trading Hours (RTH): 9:30 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. ET

  2. Global Trading Hours (GTH): 8:15 p.m. – 9:25 a.m. ET (Sunday to Friday)

  3. Curb Trading Hours: 4:15 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. ET (Monday to Friday) [1, 2, 3, 4]
